AUSTIN.-On the 9th May, at his residence, Stanley-street, North Adelaide, after a lingering illness, Thomas Austin, aged 47 years. A colonist of 42 years.^[6]

Research Notes

Marriage record states father is Charles Austin, which matches with the migration record in 1839. Charles' wife is listed as being Jane, which doesn't match with any baptism records. There is a record for a Charles and Hannah in Canterbury and a Charles and Ann in Shropshire. Doesn't match for other children listed however. Record may not be reliable however, only viewed transcription.

An Ancestry tree lists another sister, Elizabeth Mary Austin, born in Adelaide, Australia on 5 Sep 1846, where birth registration lists mother as Hannah Lepine, which does match for the record in Canterbury.
