Glena Burnette Austin was born on June 22, 1907, in Chipman, New Brunswick, Canada, her father, Morley, was 28, and her mother, Isabelle, was 22. She married Vernon Thomas Ward on September 30, 1925, in her hometown. They had four children during their marriage. She died in 1992 at the age of 85, and was buried in Queens, New Brunswick, Canada.
