Fred died on October 3, 1977 in Sandwich South Township, Essex, aged 87. He was buried in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Maidstone, Essex County, Ontario.[7]
Obituary
Frederick Douglas Austin, aged 87 of Pelton, Sandwich South, passed away at his home on Monday. He had been in ill health for many months.
Deceased was a former County Assessor, a former resident of Essex and a graduate of Essex High School.
Surviving are his widow, (nee Catherine Cole), seven daughters, Rita (Mrs. Arthur Brosseau), Mrs. Mary Jessop, Helen (Mrs. Robert Morkin) all of Windsor, Anne (Mrs. Daniel Ruddy) New Jersey, Eileen, Jane, Catharine at home, two sons David of Hamilton and James of London, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; also a sister Miss Mabel Austin, R.N. Windsor.
Funeral services in charge of Janisse Brcs. Funeral Home is being held this Thursday morning at St. Mary's Church, Maidstone with burial in church cemetery.
