Captain Alexander (Astley) Ludford-Astley was Killed in Action during World War I.

Biography

Alexander was born in 1882. He was the son of Reverend Benjamin Buckler Gifford Ludford-Astley and Maria Catherine Unknown.[1]

His father died in 1897.

He married widow Mary Christobel Arbuthnot (daughter of Colonel George Arbuthnot and Caroline Emma Nepean Aitchison) on 3 June 1914 at Chelsea, London, England.[3]

He gained the rank of Captain in the 14th Hussars.

Tragically he was killed in the 1st World War on 5 March 1917 at Mesopotamia, killed in action.
