John James Andrews, The Younger. Born 18 OCT 1818 England. Died 28 FEB 1867 Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of John Andrews and Sarah Moorey \ Moorish.
He married Margaret Isabella Sullivan. Born 8 APR 1824 Lisbon, Portugal. Died 14 NOV 1907 Gravesend, Warialda, New South Wales, Australia.

I know little of John ANDREWS, other than that he is often incorrectly identified as the father of John ANDREWS, born 1834 at Cooks River near Sydney, NSW.
Details from his Death certificate show that he was:
Born: ca. 1807 in England (his parentage is given as 'unknown')
Immigration: John was in NSW for 20 years (but actually arrived February 1837).
Occupation: Labourer
Married: 1858 at Wollombi, NSW to Margaret Isabella SULLIVAN[1]
Children: At the time of his death, aged 60, he had five children at Wollombi:
- 1859 - Jane (NSW BDM Cert. 13989/1859)
- 1860 - Charles (NSW BDM Cert. 13761/1860)
- 1862 - Henry (NSW BDM Cert. 14902/1862)
- 1865 - Clara (NSW BDM Cert. 16758/1865)
- 1866 - Grace (NSW BDM Cert. 16441/1866)
Died: John ANDREWS died on 28 Feb 1867 at Wollombi, aged 60 years.
Given that he was married, it is odd that no family are listed as informants on the Death Certificate.
John was born before 1837. He was the son of Unknown Andrews. He passed away after 1837. John was the younger brother of Henry Andrews. [2]

Hi, I'm pretty sure this John is the elder brother of Henry Andrews. Both were sent to Sydney after being convicted of stealing a sheep. Henry is a direct ancestor of mine. He married a Margaret Rolley or Rowley in Wollongong and had at least one child, Mary G or Margaret. Henry was a shoemaker, according to his death certificate. See my Ancestry tree if you can. Thanks, Shane! The one way to prove this would be through DNA. Has anyone in your family tested? We'd need to find a descendent of John and Margaret to alkso test and that would likely settle the issue. My tribe hail from a different "John" and I've only added him on Wikitree because his John is often confused with 'my' John by some researchers.
