The death occurred at Pakuranga on Saturday last of Mr Robert Andrew, at the age of 85 years. Deceased was one of the passengers who arrived in the Duchess of Argyle as far back as 1842. He came with his parents, and spent the greater part of his life in Auckland district. He was for a short while resident in Melbourne, and also was on the Thames goldfields in the early days. Mr Andrew saw service during the Maori war. He is survived by his widow, three sons, and six daughters. Deceased was an uncle of Mrs S. Tanner, of Tauranga.[8]
He is buried in the St. Andrew Presbyterian Cemetery, Howick, Auckland Council, Auckland, New Zealand[9]
