John Gerard Anderson was born on 12 February 1836 in Orphir, Orkney, Scotland, the son of Susan (Gerard) Anderson and James Anderson.[1]
John emigrated to Australia on the Cairngorm in 1863.[2]
He was an educationist.[1]
He married Edith Sarah Wood on 17 April 1873 in Queensland, Australia.[1] Their children were:[citation needed]
John died on 23 August 1911 in Brisbane, Queensland, aged 75 years.[3] His remains were buried at South Brisbane Cemetery in Dutton Park, Queensland.[4]
