Biography

John Albury is part of a Bahamian family.

John Albury was probably born about 1760 in Harbour Island, Bahamas.

He married Mercy Roberts, daughter of George Roberts and Martha Albury Roberts, about 1780. They had children - born at Harbour Island: Mary Albury, John "Old John" Albury, and Sarah Albury. Mercy was widowed about 1785 and married, second, Richard Curry of Harbour Island and Green Turtle Cay, Abaco.

Will of Richard Curry - Mercy's second husband - lists the Albury children in his 1841 will. " .. And that one-third be equally divided amongst my children and the children of my aforesaid loving wife Mercy .. begotten by a former husband .. namely Sarah Lowe, Mary Lowe, and John Albury .. "
