Biography

Jane Aitchison is seen on some documents and Jean in others. We know this is the same person. She was baptised 19 December 1781 in Cockburnspath. 1851 Census has her listed as living with her daughter Margaret in Dunbar. 1861 Census has her listed as living with her daughter Margaret and son Andrew in Kirkhill Cottage Dunbar. Death Certificate states Jane as being the widow of Andrew Nisbett slater. She died at Kirkhill Cottage Dunbar 23 July 1865 at 2.22 am aged 84 years signed by A. Nisbett her son present. Parents listed as William Aitchison farmer and Margaret Aitchison was Lawson both deceased.
