Edith (Addison) Woodside was born in Lancashire, England.

Edith was born in 1886 ^[1]. She was the daughter of Joseph Addison and Mary Meldon and was baptised at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Liverpool on 2 May 1886 ^[2].

Edith was 18 when she married William Woodside, mariner, son of Edward Woodside, horse keeper, at St John the Baptist Church, Toxteth Park on 22 October 1905. Both parties signed the register and the marriage was witnessed by George Rimmer and Margaret Woodside ^[3].

In 1911, Edith was living at 92 Northumberland Street, Liverpool with her three children and sister-in-law Sarah E Woodside - husband William, a marine fireman, was at sea at the time of the census ^[4].
