What is the protocol for inherited medical conditions?

Should medical flags be included in profiles or comments? As the inheritor of a genetic condition I would find it useful but perhaps it is worrying or scaremongering for some. As a newbie I'd like to know the general practice. Many thanks.

Thanks Denise. Yes, the dreaded insurance. I think mine has also put a few athletes out of action and I know that some pro footballers have been unhappy about tests that could blight their career. Could ruin their life, but heyho. Sometimes the gene is there but doesn't activate, or has it's own timescale to come alive. Still being researched. Mine is misdiagnosed or missed often, so actually sudden or early deaths could have been avoided. It is a difficult call, but I suppose most people would want to know if a family member needed diagnosis, knowledge for signs to watch or some historical questions were answered.
