Biography Raised in Tampa, Florida. Masters in Education..taught in Florida and Kentucky. Retired living close to Lexinton, Ky. Enjoying my grandkids...wanting a family tree to leave them. I am willing to volunteer any way I can be helpful. Most of my family came by way of VA, NC,SC, Tenn, to Ga. moving south to Florida and west to Alabama, Mississippi and even Oklahoma. Many names in the first census of 1790. Even from Spain to Cuba, Key West to Tampa,Florida. I want to be able to fill out my family tree maybe it would help someone else. My grandkids are very excited to find out about their heritage. I feel it is very important for them to know about their ancestors and the sacrifices they made. I love history. As I have searched for my ancestors, I always read information about the period, state, county etc. relevant to the their lifetime. I have learned so many new things that I can share with my grandkids. Being a teacher, I always try to find books, hands -own-activies and trips to take them on. If we don't record history for them it will be lost. How sad to think that our kids will not know their lineage. America was built on mine and your ancestors....Sincerely ,

Yvonne E. Womble

Hi Yvonne,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you are adding profiles for the pre-1700 ancestors you have found in your search. Congratulations in getting back that far!

Since you are now back in the time period where many people can be descended from those ancestors, we need more details in your source area. As collaborative genealogists, we need to tell each other our sources so that we can work together to assess the relative reliability of the source and the evidence it contains.

The Sources - Examples section more fully explains what information needs to be included in source citations for pre-1700 profiles.

We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Would your source be a good addition?

Thanks,

Debi

Hi Yvonne,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your tags the US Southern Colonies Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
