Caroline (Lena) Witte Miller was the daughter of Diedrich and Sophie Meyer Witte. She was born June 10, 1888 in Iowa.

In the 1900 census Liena[SIC] (age 12) was the daughter of Diedrick Witte in Richland Township, Sac, Iowa, United States.^[1]

In the 1905 census Lena (age 16) was recorded as single in Ida, Iowa, United States, working as a domestic. Both parents were born in Germany.^[2]

Lena (age 18), daughter of Dietrich Witte and Sophie Meir[sic], married August Miller (age 27) on March 13, 1907 in Ida Grove, Ida, Iowa, United States.^[3]
