Alfred Warren was born in Ravensworth, Durham County, England in 1884. He was the son of Bernard Warren and Elizabeth Dodds. He married Margaret Armstrong in Banford, England in 1909. They emigrated to Canada. He passed away in Victoria, British Columbia in 1961.
