Stephen Wade, born 17 Apr 1755 in Scituate, was the son of Nathaniel & Hannah (Vinal) Wade. [1]
He married Mercy/Marcy Pierce/Peirce on 24 Mar 1782 at Scituate, Plymouth, MA.[2]

Stephen Wade served with the rank of Sergeant for Massachusetts. The DAR lists Service Description: 1) also Private, Corporal, with Captains Turner, Stetson, Barker & Peirce, Colonels Thomas, Nicholas Dyke Dike-409, Cushing, Cotton Cotton-2614. Spouse: Mercy Peirce. Daughter Hannah married Joseph Northey. [3]
Probate
Stephen Wade of Scituate, gentleman died intestate and on 5 June 1797, his widow, Mercy Wade was granted the administration of his estate.[4]
His inventory was taken on 15 June 1797 in Scituate. An account of his estate by his widow Mercy was recorded which included the sale of personal estate, funeral charges, provisions for the family, debts paid, and administration fees.[5]
In 1797, August Clap of Scituate was appointed guardian to his minor sons, Abednego (above 14 years), and Shadrach (under the age of 14 yeras. [6] He was also appointed guardian of his daughters, Mable, Betsey, and Hannah, all under the age of 14 years.[7]
In 1798, his real estate could not be divided without spoiling the whole. His widow received her dower, and the real estate was appraised. [8] In 1806, his estate could not be divided without spoiling the whole, so it was settled upon the two sons, Shadrack and Abednego, who agreed to pay their sister their share, viz., Mabel Brown, Betsey Wade, and Hannah Wade. [9]
In 1807, Augustus Clap of Scituate was appointed guardian of his daughters, Betsey and Hannah, minors above the age of 14 years.[10]

Howdy Ray, Can you check into this please. I see that Stephen's birth record states that his mother is Hannah, but Hannah Vinal would have been 48yo when he was born. It appears that Stephen is most likely the son of Nathaniel, Jr and Patience Hatch. He's also listed on their profile as a child. Info below is copied from his memorial. I'm not sure of it's accuracy. PS: After adding Betsey as his daughter, I see that the DAR stickers added her name. I don't know how that happened.
