Biography
Sarah Wade is a part of US Black heritage.
Sarah was born in 1854. On the 1880 census she is recorded on the federal census with "daughter" Mary Newton. [1] Sarah is identified as divorced. As such there is a possibility that Wade is not her surname at birth.
Research Notes
Though Sarah identifies Mary Newton as her daughter in 1880, Sarah was only eight years old when Mary was born. Moreover, the 1880 census states that Mary's parents were born in Mississippi, while Sarah was born in Tennessee.
