"VELMA FERN TYLER LATTA,69, Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Indianapolis, died April 13. She was a homemaker. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services: 2 p.m. May 19 in Floral Park Cemetery Chapel, with inurnment in the cemetery afterward. Calling: none. She was the widow of Harold W. Latta. Survivors: children Terrell Lee Britton, Kenneth Allen, Frederick Keith Latta, Brenda Sue Jones, Wanda Fern Cannon, Virginia Marie Harris; sister Juanita Farlow; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Flanner & Buchanan Decatur Township Mortuary is handling arrangements."

She married first to a Mr. Britton and they had three children: Terrell Lee Britton, Brenda Sue Jones and Wanda Fern Cannon. She married second to Harold W. Latta on June 4, 1959, Marion Co. They had three children: Kenneth Allen Latta, Frederick Keith Latta (1964-2004) and Virginia Marie Harris.
