Gary Don Taylor was born October 19, 1957 in Pauls Valley, OK the son of Loyd Estes Taylor and the late Nellie Mae (Simmons) Taylor. Gary married Sue Sherwood June 4, 1976. Together they had two children and six grandchildren. Gary went to be with his Lord October 23, 2010 in Atoka, OK at the age of 53. He had been a lifelong resident of Lindsay. Gary was a wonderful father, grandfather, and brother. Gary joined the Oklahoma National Guard November 7, 1976 and was dismissed December 14, 1976 on a medical discharge due to a shoulder injury. He spent most of his life plumbing and then worked for Tucker Construction for the past 12 years. He was always dedicated to his family. His grandkids were all he knew. If there ever was anything they needed or just wanted you can bet he would find a way for them to get it. Gary was a great person giving his last dime to whomever needed it. Next to his family and friends hunting was a close race. The woods are where he spent his last moment with a number of family members and friends. He could always be found hanging around with cousin Mike Taylor or standing around in the shop watching to make sure Boyd Slay did his work right. He also was known to many as the guy who held up the counter at the Erin Springs Store for one of his best buddies, Dale Wilkins. Gary is going to be missed more than words can say.
