Biography
John Potter and family can be found in Coventry RI records. John died there leaving his widow Phebe as administrator of the estate. Deeds from Coventry show that sons John (Jr) and William remove to Pownal VT, and John (jr) moves again to Hoosac NY, a contiguous town. John Jr. was a well known person in that community, as an innkeeper and may have been in the assembly. Son David stayed in Coventry longer, and his parents' farm was conveyed to him.

Potter-7594 and Potter-4215 appear to represent the same person because: I have removed the unmerged match. It is clear that the later PM is working on the same families as the earlier one, and created many duplications that need to be merged. It is important not to delete any original research done in Coventry RI in the merge, and not to rely entirely on unsubstantiated data.
