Biography
Corporal Jacob Potter served with 1st Regiment, Essex County Militia, New Jersey Militia during the American Revolution.
Jacob Potter is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A091606.
Jacob was born in 1755. He was the fourth[1] son of Daniel Potter. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church of New Providence, New Jersey.[2] He passed away in 1844.
Military service as a Corporal under command of Captains Wood, Garthwaite, Britton, M Potter; LCol Jeremiah Smith and Colonel Oliver Spencer Spencer-2982 1st Essex. Also Wagoner for Captains Townley and S Potter. Pension Number: S3711 [3]
