Lindia, I hope you don't mind but I've added some sources on a cpl profiles. It just helps me "see" things. I ran a match on our dna and we are related....somehow hahaha. At first I thought it might be through Turners but you don't match match my grandfather,Doris. Soooo I'm trying to figure it out :)

Hi cousin, we are showing in GEDMatch to be 6.62 MRCA, on WikiTree we are showing to be 12th cousins, 2X. so we are missing a few lines in connecting our shares Grandparents somewhere. :) Amy

Hello cousin !! I would be awesome to figure out which set of grandparents we share. Being so far back, it might be a challenge. I have a tree on Ancestry that is very large. I have also tested with 23&me, and My Heritage. I’m not so good with this dna stuff, but I sure enjoy it !

Very good work on the children of our Cassandra PARKINS Rogers!
Thanks for your message! I'll try and source some info for the Addingtons as it looks like some of the extended family data doesn't match up - the son, William and his wife (wives?) And dates. I need to ensure that we aren't merging people who are actually different. It's hard when some of the source data is from Trees or memory as this could be incorrect or best guess. I will try!

This is your last stop on the guided tour. Hopefully, you're feeling like a WikiTree pro! If not, you can always revisit the tour stops via the comment boxes on the right side of your profile.

This tour has covered a lot of ground so far. Our last stop gives you a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

Lindia --

You may have been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi again,

You have been here for a while now! You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

Have questions? We want to help! Click the name above any of your comments, then ask in the comment section of that volunteer's page.

PS. Looks like you've had fun with the lessons, your tree is nice and full. Next time you touch the profiles, please consider adding information about your sources (examples). Thanks for sharing!

Hi –

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Shirley

Welcome Lindia!

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community. Once you sign the Honor Code, you may start adding profiles.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour to help new members learn their way around. The first stop is How-To #1: How to Start Climbing Our Tree. The How-To's are intended to be visited about once a week, but feel free to work through them at your own pace.

To meet other WikiTreers, check out our G2G forum, including the G2G Question of the Week.

Enjoy!

See you in the branches, Cindy

Hi Lindia,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
