Mike was a rancher, in 1889 he was farming in ME (I'm thinking this should be Missouri). 1890-96 he homesteaded in Sheridan County, living in a sod house. 1896-97 he was a photographer in Crawford. 1897-1914 he was employed as manager on Carson Ranch in Sheridan Co. 1914-1927 he was a rancher in Sheridan Co. 1927 owned and managed a ranch in Sheridan Co. Rushville--member of school board, dist 13 for 15 yr.
