Margaret et al,

Finally getting some work done here.

I looked at the Australia Project Teams page:

Seems 4 possibilities: Queensland (Maternal) New South Wales (Paternal). Prussian and German (the maternal brick wall!)

Have joined Discord: user name markn373.

best regards,

Hi Mark,

We're contacting you for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve Australian profiles on WikiTree.

Please could you reply to this message, or send me a private message to let us know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if you'd like to make any changes to the teams that you belong to. The teams are listed on Australia Project Teams.

If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you from the membership list.

Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. If you are already on the WikiTree Discord server, let us know, and we can send you an invite link to the dedicated Australia Project server (WikiAustralia) where all our chat channels are located. It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.

We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

The Australia Project Leadership Team ~ Gillian, Margaret and Veronica

Margaret,

Been a horrible year and I would like to stay on the list. It makes me guilty enough to at least log in etc. I've been chasing Y-DNA matches. is there a support group for this?

and noted about Discord.

regards,

Thanks Mark for responding to the check-in message, and for your ongoing contributions to WikiTree and the Australia Project, they are much appreciated! Sorry to hear it hasn't been a good year for you, I hope the coming year will be a better one for you.

We have a couple of Project members who discuss DNA research on the Discord channel, and our project leader Veronica (currently away travelling) is very knowledgeable on the subject. Is there specific questions you have or are you wanting to just discuss with other researchers?

If you do get joined up to the WikiTree Discord server, let me know and I'll send you an invite link to the dedicated Australia Project server.

Regards, Margaret

Hi Mark.

It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!

If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.

We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to get back to us!

Kind Regards

Margaret Haining Membership Coordinator

Hi Mark, I am currently trying to lay out my grandmothers family tree as it hasn’t been done and I am interested to share with my family. I believe your fathers father Thomas j was the brother of my great grandfather William d (Bill) whom passed away at 35. His daughter ‘Lola’ is my grandmother

Daena,

Hi, Yes you are correct. I mostly only have direct lines here. William Denis Lawrence Navin 1884–1919 BIRTH 1884 • Lismore, New South Wales, Australia DEATH 13 MAR 1919 • Auburn, New South Wales, Australia

who had a daughter: Cathrin L Navin 1916– BIRTH 1916 DEATH Unknown another daughter Doris and a son William Lawrence. which is all I have. I assume L could be Lola. Be happy to share what I have and appreciate if you could share as well. If that fits to what you know. I have a clear path to Ireland and some evidence that they were Scottish from Ayrshire that migrated about 1730~1940s to Ireland and then to Australia about a 100 years later. It's a colourful history.
