Research notes
“ …The first Lewismen in [The Eastern Townships] came from Mealista in Uig in 1838, with further influxes in 1841 and 1855. The area was largely English- and Gaelic-speaking during the 19th century and Hebrideans at one time accounted for a third of the population. However as more French settlers arrived the culture shifted and most Hebridean families had departed by the 1930s, principally for Ontario, Alberta and the United States.”[10]Perkins-11750 13:05, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
I changed his parents' relationship status indicators to "confident" because the parental DNA confirmation citation is using an autosomal Ancestry DNA test match for Elizabeth Hilda (Murray) Wold (1903-1975). Since she died before the test was available from Ancestry, there is an error in this citation.
