Martin Mortimer "Martie" Morgan was born on June 12, 1868, in Luthers Mills, Pennsylvania.[1] In 1870, little Martie was living in Luthers Mills with his parents, Zophar and Juliette.[2] In 1880, 11-year-old Martie's occupation was described as "at school."[3] On July 19, 1887, Martie married Florence Luther.[4] By 1900, Martie and Flo had two children, Oscar and Mary.[5] By 1910, two more children had joined the Morgan family, Harold and Elsie.[6] Sadly, Florence died in 1918, leaving Martie a widower. On December 15, 1919, Martie married a widow named Maude Bolles Gustin.[7] In 1920, Martie and Maude were rooming with the George Mead family of Union, NY.[8] Martie and Maude were part of an unusual household in 1930. It was comprised of Martie, Maude, Maude's granddaughter Maude, Martie's father Zophar, and a boarder named Florence Brooks.[9] Martie passed away on May 25, 1933, in Owego, NY. He was 64.[10]
