Greetings and thanks for catching the errors on the Stanley profiles. I was able to easily source the 1st hand info from an inactive PM and add some sources to make some corrections. Those sources could expand that family if you have time...

Thanks again!

Hi Joyce,

I noticed that you removed Ira Clark Hammond as the father of Sylvan Clarence Hammond, and am wondering why you did so? Did you find some evidence to disprove the relationship? The cited census records give Sylvan's relationship as his son. Thanks, Amber

I don't remember doing this, but it says I did. I find this quite odd as none of these individuals are in my complete tree that I keep on my computer, and I have not been working on any projects where I would be adding people who are not in my tree in the last month.

Thank you. It must have been some sort of an error, and I will change it back.

Hello Joyce-

I don't have any record of "my" Robert Stewart (who married Ann Hornaday), ever marrying a second time- and the name Turrentine (and other spellings), is completely new to me. There is an attachment on this page which suggests Robert's father, Alexander Stewart/Stuart, was an Irishman, but Robert's father (Alexander) was born in NC, and his father in PA- so I'm guessing the connection is in error.

Both Ann Hornaday and Robert Stewart/Stuart were born in a Quaker town called Snow Camp, NC (Robert's parents were Alexander Stewart/Stuart and Elizabeth Pike (who was widowed young and remarried a man with the surname of Doane), as Alexander died at age 30 (1737-1767).

In 1802, Ann and Robert (and their children), all moved to Oregonia, OH (just north of Cincinnati), and there Ann would die in 1839, followed by Robert in 1844. Their graves are next to each other on the family farm, but are now submerged below Caesar's Creek Lake, which was created in 1938.

I see a lot of DNA links- and I wanted to update anyone who believes they are connected to the Stewarts genetically: The current conundrum for our family is that my cousin (descended from Ann/Robert's oldest son (also called Alexander), and I (descended from Ivey Stewart), match each other's DNA without doubt (only one variation in 67 markers), so we know that we can trace descent solidly to Robert/Ann- however, after that it gets very murky.

Robert's grandparents (Robert Stewart/Stuart and Martha Richardson), had a total of 13 children; 3 born in Penn, and 10 born in NC. The oldest three born in PA were: John, Elizabeth and Alexander (our Robert's father), but here's the weird part: neither John's nor Alexander's descendant's DNA have proven to be Stewarts. In fact, mine is so NOT connected to Stewarts it's actually amazing given both are Scots in origin. In a 37 DYS string, the common numbers is roughly just 5/37. My ancestor actually connects to the Wallace family, where I match at 36/37, while John's descendants turns out to match the MacRae family at a similar rate. The fact is; neither of us are Stewarts, meaning both boys, and possibly Elizabeth as well (as she was born between them), were either adopted or someone was really fooling around and keeping it a secret. I'm opting for the former, simply because it seems out of character for Quakers in this time period, in a small isolated community to commit multiple acts of infidelity, while adoption is quite Quaker.

Hi Joyce,

The Westward Ho/Trails and Wagon Trains Project needs your help!

Regarding profiles for Abel Baker (abt.1838-1857) & Charles Roark Mitchell (abt.1832-1857) et al. Please visit this G2G page https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1151307/westward-ho-project-sticker-needed to support creating a Westward Ho/Trails and Wagon Trains sticker.

Thanks, your consideration of this request is appreciated!

Pages are getting cluttered. Since Abel Baker has no descendants, I see no purpose in adding a sticker.

Hi Joyce,

Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, the request is not about adding a sticker to a specific profile, but rather supporting the creation of the sticker. Whether you agree/disagree with creating the sticker, your comments on the G2G would be appreciated.

Thanks! -Dek

Hello again!

Working with genealogy puzzels, I am always trying to learn... added some categories to the Christopher Wilson profile as there appears to be some new enthusiasm on that project. Maybe placing a new Brick Wall Name Category can help? This site evolves rather quickly ~chuckle~

Greetings Joyce,

I noticed your post on G2G regarding Willson ancestors from Yorkshire to Chesterfield. I have been looking at this lineage for several decades and find the number of possibilities mind-boggling as to the parents of Robert Willson. There is also fodder to the correct LNAB for his wife Ann. Have you any additional insight? There are some images from 1953 of Chorley Wood research trip on Albert Stanley Wilson Sr..

Cheers!

Hi Joyce,

Would appreciate if you will approve the merge of Susannah Scofield with Susannah Scofield. I'm trying to get rid of the duplicates in this family.

Thanks, Shirley

Hi Joyce, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors?

Let me know, and I can help you figure out if there's a project that might interest you. Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you!

Hi!

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, our G2G Forum and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have any questions I can help with?
