Margaret was born in 1854. She was the daughter of John McWhorter and Mary Ann Moren. She passed away in 1900.
She married Richard C. Hopkins on 17 February 1873 in Laurel, Kentucky. Their children were John C. Hopkins (1873–1874), Susan Hopkins (1875–Deceased), Thomas Jefferson Hopkins (1878–1920), Margaret Catherine Hopkins (1879–1884), Garfield Hopkins (1881–1956), Elizabeth H. Hopkins (1883–1960), Hugh Hopkins (1884–1985), Willie Hopkins (1886–1971), Lillian Mae (Hopkins) Branon (1889–1966) and Sarah Ellen Hopkins (1891–1958).
