Biography

Samuel McCobb was one of the Scots-Irish Immigrants to America 1718 onwards.

Samuel McCobb performed Patriotic Service in Massachusetts in the American Revolution.

Samuel McCobb was born in 1707 in Ireland, probably in County Tyrone. He emigrated to New England with his brother James in 1729; their ship left Londonderry bound for Philadelphia, but bad weather forced them to land at the mouth of the Kennebec River in Maine. They stayed for a while in the settlement there, called Arrowsic, before moving to Boothbay^[1].

Samuel married his wife Mary around 1738 in Boothbay. They had seven children^[2]:

4. Jean, born ca. 1748; married 1st John Fullerton, 2nd James Carven

Samuel passed away on 8 February 1791^[3] in Boothbay^[2].
