Biography

Little is known of Ann Marshal except that she was born in 1579 in the Greater London parish of St Mary Stratford Bow, Middlesex, England. Her family had to have been of the upper yeoman or gentry social class. Her parents' names are Unknown.

In about 1600 she married John Hill Jr., b. 1574 in Houndstone, Somerset (or Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire). They had 4 sons:

1. Edward Hill b: 1601 in London, England
2. Nicholas Hill b: 1603 in London, England
3. Richard Hill b: 1605 in London, England
4. Roger Hill b: 1618 in Baltimore, Baltimore Co., Maryland

Some family genealogies say that John & Ann (Marshal) Hill emigrated from England to Maryland (or Virginia) around 1615. According to these sources, their youngest son, Roger Hill, was born in 1618 in Baltimore, Maryland, but this is Impossible as Maryland was not colonized until around 1634. Only Virginia was an English colony in 1618. Apparently Ann Marshal died at sometime shortly before her husband's death in 1646, and also in Virginia.
