Biography

Sir William Marshal was killed in Action during the First War of Scottish Independence at the Battle of Bannockburn.

William le Marshall: Born "on or about 24 Sep. 1277", he was "committed to the custody of John de Bohun" when his father died in 1282.^[4][5] William was summoned to Parliament from 8 January 1308/9 to 26 November 1313 (2 Edw. II to 7 Edw. II) "by writs directed Willelmo le Mareschal, whereby he is held to have become Lord Marshal."^[6]
