Biography
Gilbert was born in 1799. He was the son of James Mann and Barbara Gilbertson.
In the 1851 census Gilbert (age 51), Shephard, was the head of household in Graveland, Graveland, Mid and South Yell, Shetland.[1]
In the 1881 census Gilbert (age 81), Crofter Formerly Fisher, was the head of household at 4 Grimister, Mid Yell, Shetland.[2]
Gilbert's death (age 84) was registered in 1883 in the Yell (Mid and South) district.[3]
