Jean Leclerc is a descendant of an Acadian

Jean Leclerc ... He is variously listed as Jean Comeau dit Naire, Jean Comeau dit Jeanclerc, Jean Leclerc dit Comeau, Jean Leclerc and Jean Clerc. He was son of Jean Comeau dit Naire and Esther Babin, both listed as already deceased on his marriage record, residents of Carleton. He was of age. His funeral record, (2 days after death) under Jean Clerc, gave him the age of 64.[1][2]

Jean was a cooper (tonnelier) and settled at Rivière-à-l'Anguille (New Brunswick) where is descendants adopted the name Le Clerc. [3]
