Hi Charlene,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Berry Henderson ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Charlene,

Thanks for joining WikiTree!

As a mentor I'm here to help. If you have questions or problems with WikiTree, including with your GEDCOM, post a comment on my profile page or send me a private message.

  • Remember to include locations and sources in new profiles whenever possible.
  • Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so make sure to look for duplicates!
  • If you have royal ancestors, contact the EuroAristo Project to see about connecting to pre-existing lines.

Whoever said "seek and ye shall find" was NOT a genealogist!

I'm interested in lining out my family tree & finding missing links. I have been doing this for a few years & enjoy searching & researching to make as accurate as possible. I have a few lines that are dead ends & cannot seem to find ancestors.

I also enjoy helping others. I look forward to the journey & to see what this leads me down the correct path.

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. The help pages give lots of information about the process, but I recommend starting with 'Before you import a GEDCOM' (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Before_importing_a_GEDCOM) Another very helpful link, a step-by-step process, which includes screen-shots is (http://www.geneamusings.com/2013/12/adding-early-seaver-generations-to.html)

Best of luck! Don
