Paul Kreyling was born in either May 1843[1]or 3 Oct 1842[2] in Rauschenberg, Churhessen, Deutscher Bund to parents Daniel Kreyling and Anna Eva Wagner[3]
They had a daughter, (unnamed in the birth document but likely Elizabeth Kreyling) born 24 Dec 1870 in Manhattan. Mary was aged 38 and Paul was 28.[5]
In 1880, Paul was aged 37, from Germany, married, working as a confectioner, and living in ED 495 of New York City, New York County, New York with his wife Mary (aged 40), his son Paul (12), and his daughter Lizzie (9).[6]
In 1893, Mary passed away and was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.[7]
On 31 Aug 1897, Paul's son Paul died at age 29 and was also buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. He had been living at 541 Second Ave in Manhattan and was a painter.[4]
In 1900, Paul was aged 57, a widower, and living alone on Manhattan Island, Election District 23, Ward 32, ED 909, City of New York, New York County, New York.[1]
Paul was mentioned in the marriage document for his daughter Elizabeth Kreyling, estimated birth year of 1871, who married 40-yr-old widower Edward Norris on 5 Jun 1901 in Manhattan.[8]
By 1905, Paul was aged 62, living with his daughter Elizabeth (aged 34 and noted in the census as Eliza) and her family (husband Edward Norris, aged 44, and son Edward Norris, aged 2) in Election District 22 in Manhattan, New York.[9]
Paul Sr. passed away on 20 Feb 1908 at age 65 and was buried in Section 165, Lot 28365 of Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York next to his wife and son. The headstone reads "Asleep in Jesus".[2]
