Introductory Note

In the late 1990s after corresponding by letter about identifying the father of Barnabas K. King (1808-1879), Zachary Samuel Norville Jr (1928-2013) provided to Jeff Narvil a report by a professional genealogist hired by Mr Norville. Unfortunately, the identity of the genealogist is not known and the introductory pages are not available. After reviewing all evidence and facts, the professional genealogist was "certain" that James King was the father of Barnabas K. King (1808-1879). Jeff Narvil is sharing the analysis before additional pages become lost:

On 18 Feb 1837, North Carolina granted James King 100 acres on Long Branch next to the land he then lived on and also next to the land of Aaron Butters, William Goodes, and Daniel Blackwell.[16]
