Christian Junkin was born on 3 Mar 1804, baptized 13th, in St Ninians, Stirlingshire, Scotland to James Junkin and Chrisian Roy. ^[1] She is assumed to have died prior to 1837. ^[2]

(This question assumes Christian survived into adulthood and did indeed marry)

Theory 1: Thomas Paterson, a nailer

Theory 2: Robert Shirra, a cooper

I ( Lorna) admit I have not yet completely ruled out Theory 2 , found on several trees, but can add that at least one child of Robert Shirra's shows his mother as Catherine, not Christian, Jenkins in records and the trusty WhatsInAName reference pages do not list them as variants. I also cannot recall noticing them used interchangeably in my research. I do think, along with the occupations of the respective husbands this casts a strong vote in favour of Theory I, i.e. Christian may well have met Thomas Paterson via her father's work.

Christian's death?

The before 1837 death date assumes Theory 1 from the above note, and that Thomas Paterson remarried - to Janet Allan - in 1837
