Elizabeth, born about 1742. She married John Evans of Bache, Llangollen, Denbighshire, in 1763.[1][2][3]
Jane, born about 1747. She married David Lloyd of Corwen, Merionethshire, in 1773.[4][3]
On 5 February 1763, the day before their daughter Elizabeth married John Evans, Thomas and his wife signed a marriage settlement with the Evans family. They were recorded as Thomas Jones, gent, of Llansanffraid Glyn Ceiriog. and Jane, his wife. The trustees were John Wynne, gent, and Edward Jones, gent, both of Llansanffraid Glyn Ceiriog, and they held on trust messuages and lands in the townships of Bache and Vivod, Llangollen, Denbighshire, and in Corwen, Merionethshire.[2]
Thomas made his will on 29 December 1777, describing himself as: "Thomas Jones of Bache in the Parish of Llangollen in the County of Denbigh Yeoman".[3]
He disposed of his estate as follows:
He appointed Richard Jones, yeoman, of Glyn fechan in Llansanffriad Glyn Ceiriog, and Thomas Jones, yeoman, of Hafodgynfor, Llangollen, to be trustees to hold his lands in the parishes of Corwen, Merionethshire, and Llansanfraid Glyn Ceiriog, Denbighshire
The lands in Corwen were to be held on trust for his daughter Jane Lloyd and, after her death, for her children Thomas Lloyd, Elizabeth Lloyd or any younger children in succession.
If Jane's children did not survive her, the lands in Corwen were to be held in trust for his daughter Elizabeth's children, John Evans (her second son), Thomas Evans (her third son), Jane Evans, Ann Evans and any other children in succession.
The lands in Llansanffraid Glyn Ceiriog were to be used to raise £100 to discharge his debts, then held on trust for his daughter Elizabeth Evans until her son Thomas Evans turned 21, then held in trust for him and his heirs. In default of an heir, the lands were to be held for her other children in succession.
He gave his granddaughter Jane Evans his oak chest and the bed in his parlour; he gave his granddaughter Ann Evans the cupboard in his parlour; and he gave his grandson John Evans his clock and case.[3]
His will was proved on 7 April 1785 by his daughter Elizabeth Evans, who he had nominated to be sole executrix.[3]
