Margaret was born about 1825 in County Monaghan. [1] Her father was Hugh Hunter, farmer. She lived at Lurganearly, Muckno, County Monaghan as of 1846.
On 16 April 1846 at Armaghbrague Church of Ireland, she married James Blackstock of Corkley. Witnessed by William Fulton and Joseph Blackstock. [2]
They may have lived in Canada for a time; as her daughter Elizabeth Murphy is recorded on the 1901 census as being born there.
As of 1901 she lived at Gortreagh, Kildress with some descendants.
She passed away 26 May 1907 at Gortreagh. Informed by James Blackstock, Gortreagh. [3]
The church, Armaghbrague, is in the south of County Armagh , near Keady. The townland of Corkley, is in the same registrar's district. Armaghbrague borders County Monaghan.
The 1901 census giving Monaghan as birthplace is a pretty convincing sign it is the right census for this profile.
