Joseph Alexander Hunter was born on 23 Aug 1872 in Gonzales, Texas, United States, son of William Samuel Hunter (1826–1875) and Martha Locke Davis (about 1833–1893). [1]
Joseph (21) married Stella Jane Newton (16) (born on 19 Aug 1877 in Kerr, Texas; daughter of James Ervin Newton and Elviry Francis (Collier) Newton) on 5 May 1894 in Jackson, Texas. Their children were:
