Biography

I was born and raised on a farm in Michigan. After High School, I received a B.S. degree in Soil Science at Michigan State University, an M.S. degree in Tropical Soil Science at the University of Hawaii and a Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Sciences at Michigan State University. Following service as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, I began my career in International Agriculture Research and Development which continued until my retirement in 2009. During my career, I worked on short-term projects and consultancies in 74 countries in North America, Central America, South America, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Oceania. I also worked on long-term resident programs in both Africa and South America. I met my wife of 40 years in South America while I was working there and we have twin daughters and four grandchildren.

Hi Lawrence!

Welcome to the Bartlett Name Study. The first thing to do is to check out the Bartlett Name Study and add the tags and categories to your own profile.

The next thing would be to go through your own Bartlett profiles add any categories from the members section of the study. For example if you are not sure of parents then you would need to add the category BNS Parents Unknown.

Then what we do is try to find sources to help connect missing Bartletts to each other and to the wiki family tree. Most of the time we can accomplish this with using familysearch.org

If you have any questions feel free to message me any time.

Hey Lawrence,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

I started working on my family tree in the 1970's and intensified my activity in 2009 after I retired. I agree with your mission and I am willing contribute to the shared family tree and to abide by your 9 rules.
