Joseph Grose bap 4 Jan 1795 at Luxulyan, son of Robert and Mary. Joseph Grose married Elizabeth Hocken on 29 Dec 1821 at Lanlivery. In 1841 Joseph Grose 45 tin labourer lived at Loking Gate, Luxulyan with Elizabeth 40, Robert 14, Joseph 12, Elizabeth 9, Ann 6, and Jane 3. Joseph probably died at Luxulyan in 1842. In 1851 Elizabeth Grose 50 widow pauper formerly labourer’s wife, from Lanlivery, lived in Luxulyan with Joseph 21 stream miner, Jane 12 and Mary 9, all three born at Luxulyan.
