Charles was born in 1860. He is the son of George Gleason and Nancy Potter.

In 1860 a George W. Gleason (25, b. NY, farmer) headed an Elba, MI (Lapeer County) household with Nancy Gleason (20, b. MI) and Charles H. Gleason (6/12, b. MI).

In 1870 a Wm. D. Potter (54, b. NY, baptist minister) headed an Elba Twp., MI (Lapeer County) household with Electra Potter (51, b. MA), Chas Gleason (10, b. MI), and Caroline Wells (50, b. NY, domestic servant). The next household was headed by Henry N. Potter (28, b. MI, farmer) with Emma Potter (24, b. NY), Arthur Potter (3, b. MI), Lilly Potter (5/12, b. MI), Wm. Bantonfellow (20, b. NY, farm laborer), Thomas R. Gleason (78, b. NY, retired farmer), Eliza Gleason (67, b. NY) and Eliza Elmer (18, b. NY, domestic servant). Charles was apparently living with his Potter grandparents with an Uncle Henry and Aunt Emma Potter living next door with his grandmother Gleason and great uncle Thomas Gleason.

In 1910 a C.H. Gleason (49, b. MI, traveling man axle co?, married 24 years, father b. U.S., mother b. MI) headed a Kalamazoo, MI (Kalamazoo County) household with wife Mary Gleason (47, b. MI, married 24 years, 4 children all living, both parents b. NY), daughter Bernice? Gleason (23, b. MI, single, both parents b. MI), son Charles Gleason (22, b. MI, single, both parents b. MI), daughter Catherine Gleason (21, b. MI, single, both parents b. MI), and daughter Mary E. Gleason (4, b. MI, both parents b. MI).

Charles H. Gleason (25, b. Elba, MI) married Mary E. Tunison (23, b. Hadley, MI) 5 May 1885 in Hadley, MI (Lapeer County).[1]
