Frances Garnier was daughter of George Charles Garnier and his wife, Margaret Miller, born probably at Rookesbury Park, Wickham in Hampshire. She was born on the 23rd of February 1767 and was baptised at Westminster on the 23rd of March. [1]
On the 23rd of July 1791 a marriage license for her marriage to John Delmé, son of Peter Delmé and his wife, Betty Howard (daughter of Henry Howard, Earl of Carlisle) of Cams Hall just a few miles away in Fareham was obtained, her father putting up the bond. The marriage was to take place at St Nicholas, Wickham. [2][3]
Frances died in 1841 [4] and was buried at Titchfield, presumably St Peter, on the 25th of August. [5]
In the days of high infant mortality it seems unlikely that a one month old infant would be taken from the countryside to the still unhealthy city of London for baptism.
