1961 OBITUARY: NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN

• DAVIS -- Thursday evening at the home of his son, Joe B. Davis, age 78. Survived by one son, Robert L. Davis of Alexandria; two daughters, Mrs. Calvin Vandergriff, of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Wilson Barry of Liberty, Tenn., RR No. 2; two brothers, Sidney Davis of Liberty, and W. M. Davis of Lebanon; three sisters, Mrs. May Turner and Mrs. L. C. Gibbs of Dowelltown, Mrs. Neely Williams of Franklin, Tenn., 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Remains are at Avant Funeral Home. Funeral services, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Alexandria Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Floyd Hooper and Rev. Billy Robinson. Interment in New Hope Cemetery. Avant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
