Thomas Crawford was born. His father was Ensign John Crawford (1701 - <1761).

His siblings were...

Thomas died in 1819 in Greene, Georgia, United States.

The conventional wisdom (published in several books) has this Thomas Crawford as the son of Michael Crawford. That doesn’t appear to be correct -- North Carolina and South Carolina deeds show that the Thomas Crawford who married Elizabeth Alston is the son of JOHN Crawford of Craven Co., SC.
John Crawford of Craven Co., SC, names wife, Mary, and sons John, Michael and Thomas -- no other children -- in his will, proved 1761, Craven Co., SC. [1] I don't know if this is the same John Crawford who married Mary Duke.
I have found a second Thomas Crawford in SC during the same time period, but he was in Colleton Dist. The Thomas Crawford who married Elizabeth Alston moved back to NC sometime after the war (he shows up in Halifax Co. and Wake Co.). .

These two Thomas Crawford (fathers John) have been mashed together without proper sourcing. Clearly two different family lines. The Crawfords of NC and TN were focused on Anson and Richmond Counties in NC. The lack of clear documentation on Ensign John Crawford as well as the focus on Wake and Halifax counties is telling. Whoever thought this merge was a good idea should take a pick-axe to what has resulted.

Please see Crawford-4464. That profile has exact same spouse as this one but the dates/parents are off.

If these are two different people then the spouse is most likely wrong on one. If these are same people with details that need to be updated please work towards merge.
