George Cooper was one of two sons born to John Cooper and Josephine West. He grew up in Texas. In 1874 he married Rachael Jackson. Eight children were born to this union. George and Rachael raised their eight children on their peanut farm in Lee County. All the children helped to work the peanut farm. The peanut brittle and peanuts were sold in all the surrounding communities. George was preceded in death by his father John Cooper, his brother Moses, and exactly one year after the death of his beloved, Rachael. After the death of his father his mother, Josephine moved to Lousiana to be near her parents. He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Josephine West who died one month after his death; his children, Posey, Precilla, Moses, Genora, Phably Sara, Arliene, Rebecca, and May; and his neices, nephews, grandchildren, and many friends.[1]
George died on 4 November 1915 and was buried in Copperas Cemetery, Lincoln, Lee County, Texas, United States.[2]
