Hi Courtney,

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Hello Courtney

I notice that you have added Ann Creegan as a wife to my great grandfather (via my grandmother Jesse Hislop Ford) Thomas Bell Ford (1856 - 1916) and I am unable to trace any record of this marriage. The inscription on his gravestone makes no reference to such a marriage, inscription and life details that I have entered on his profile are as follows -

Thomas Bell Ford was a master plumber and operated in the family business trading in Coldstream Berwickshire. He was born in Coldstream, married his first wife Marian Smith and they brought up their 7 children there until she died in 1901. He later married a second time to Mary Elizabeth Scott in 1907 -he died in 1916 and she died in 1930. I have personal knowledge of his eldest son Andrew Ford who was running the family business in the 1940's when I used to visit him as a child when staying with my grandmother Jesse Ford. He was buried in the Lennel Kirkyard at Coldstream and his headstone recorded on the Coldstream historical society website listing the cemetery records inscribed as follows -

West Row 18 - 3 - Ford/Smith/Scott Lennel Kirkyard - West inventory | West - Row 18

Erected by THOMAS B. FORD Plumber Coldstream in memory of MARION SMITH his wife who died 10th September 1901 aged 40 years. Also his son Private JAMES SMITH FORD 1st Seaforth Highlanders Killed at Ypres 9th May 1915 aged 25 years. Also his son L/Cpl JOHN BAXTER FORD 4th K.O.S.B. killed on Gallipoli Peninsula 25th June 1915 aged 20 years. Also the above THOMAS BELL FORD who died at Coldstream 6th January 1916 aged 59 years Also MARY ELIZABETH SCOTT his wife died 27th June 1930 aged 69 years. Do you have any reliable proof of the marriage or could this relate to another person with the same name??

His daughter Jesse married my grandfather James Thomas McCaskie.

The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you konw that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!

Hi Courtney,

We’ve made some exciting changes to the Global Cemeteries Project. The sub-projects have been merged into the Global Project to help with Leadership and to facilitate collaboration.

Some roles within the project have changed. From now on, there are Project Coordinators for each continent, and one for Welcome and Integration, plus Team Leaders for each individual Country etc.

Please let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project, if you’d like to continue in an existing role, and which team(s) you’d like to be on. Please also give me your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group.
