Biography
Lida Jane Clark was born on 23 Sep 1883 in Lewis, Essex, New York to William Hobbs Clark and Harriet Rebecca (Hattie) Perry. She married James William Hingley on 15 Jun 1903 in Dunstable, Massachusetts. Children: Harriet Irene, Maude (Dee) Elizabeth, Geraldine (Jerry) Louise, James Garland. She died on 2 Jun 1965 in Chester, Delaware, Pennsylvania.
"Lida left home at an early age to attend high school. She supported herself by working as a servant in a boarding house. She was also taught Morse Code by the local station master, and worked for him sending and receiving messages." This information was supplied by Diane Murley Houghton grandaughter.
