Carolyn (Cherry) Cherryh

Carolyn Janice "C. J." (Cherry) Cherryh was born on the 1st of September 1942 in St. Louis, MIssouri, United States, and primarily raised in Lawton, Oklahoma.[1] She grew up riding horses and spending the weekends on "gran's farm."[2] She is the great-granddaughter of Missouri Duff and Louisiana Carolina Boone.[2]
Carolyn began writing stories at the age of ten.[1][2] She received a Bachelor of Arts in Latin in 1964 and a Masters in Classics a year later.[1] She started her work as a teacher, but continued to write in her spare time.[1]
Carolyn has written more than eighty books since the mid-1970s, winning awards for several of them.[1] She now lives in Washington with her wife Jane Fancher, who writes science fiction and fantasy.[1]
When Carolyn's family starting moving to Texas, she and Jane moved to Spokane, Washington.[2] She took up figure skating at the age of sixty-one and now skates daily.[2] Carolyn counts herself lucky for being able to do what she loves best for a living.[2]

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
