Research Notes
She is referred to as Marie Delima Chartré (baptismal record), Adelia Sheltran (marriage record), Delima Chartrand (burial record), Mary Ardella Shaultrie (by her grandson, Ellsworth John Perkins).
Her middie name honors Saint Rose of Lima, who was declared a saint in 1670 by the Catholic Church, the first person born in the Americas to be canonized. [7] The name is more often shown as Rose de Lima, but is shown on some documents as Délima, likely through misspelling, clipping, or orthographic changes.Perkins-11750 13:58, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
